We immediately encouraged these young men to get involved within different committees and come out to various events to build brotherhood relationships, such as doing a ropes course, going on a hike to Dragon’s Tooth, and joining our Intramural Sports teams. They continued to make great strides within the fraternity by getting involved with sorority philanthropy events, such as participating in a Kickball tournament hosted by ADPi that raised funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as leading our organization to win AXO’s Take Back the Night philanthropy that raised awareness for sexual violence. Currently, they are in the process of working on their Sigma class project, which is building a wooden light-up Sigma Phi Epsilon flag that will be displayed within our newly obtained Oak Lane facility for decoration.
Spring 2023 Recruitment
For our Spring Recruitment period, our goal was to obtain 15 new members, but we shattered our goal by bringing in 22 new brothers this semester. One brother accepted through the informal recruitment process, but 21/23 brothers accepted bids through formal recruitment. This resulted in a high 91.3% acceptance rate, which was higher than last semester’s 89% acceptance rate, and higher than 80% of other IFC organizations on campus, which is a great feat.
