In alliance with Virginia Tech's motto of "Ut Prosim" - That I May Serve - we devote our time and effort to bettering both our brothers and our community through continuous development, addressing issues, taking action, and building relationships. We are not only passionate about helping those in our community with both large and small tasks, but we are also interested in developing long lasting, meaningful connections with these great individuals.
Our Philanthropy - Flex Out Hunger
Each spring, brothers of SigEp at Virginia Tech partner with dining services to collect extra meal plan funds to feed the hungry. All donations go towards the Montogomery County Emergency Assistance Program, feeding unfortunate families in our community. In 2017, the program raised $27,000, in 2018 over $35,000 was collected by the program. 2019, our goal was to surpass $40,000, and we did!
The 2020 campaign was affected by Covid-19, but we managed to raise over $11,000 entirely online! Read more about 2020 here.
Ut Prosim - Virginia Tech's Community Service
SigEps at Virginia Tech take part in service projects outside of just our chapter philanthropy. We can be seen collaborating with other Greek Life organizations, as well as yearly service projects organized by the university. The largest service effort of the academic year comes in the form of The Big Event, an inspiring project put on by the university in which hundreds of Hokies go out into the Blacksburg community and lend a hand to those in need.
