This semester has been a lot to manage, but luckily we have very capable leaders in charge to guide us through all the changes and trials during this time. Here is what they are currently up to:
President Anthony Hinojosa: Holding weekly Executive board meetings to keep track of chapter activities, culture, and accountability. Maintaining strong connection with SigEp National Headquarters, and is working alongside the VP of Housing to ensure a smooth transition into the Oak Lane facility.
VP Programming Filip DeHaven: After coordinating several fun social and brotherhood events on top of managing Flex Out Hunger, which is our Spring philanthropy, Filip is planning next semester’s events and to ensure the growth of brotherhood bonding along with our Fall philanthropy to make sure we continuously give back to our community.
VP SigEp Learning Community CJ Barreiro: Working closely with our Faculty Fellow, Sharon Williams, in keeping the fraternity focused on achieving academic excellence. He held study hours every week, and is in the process of developing stronger partnerships with Virginia Tech to increase our academic involvement on campus.
VP Finance Nick Comer: Ensuring that our budget and spending is accurate and effective. Also working with VP of Housing on budgeting for the House along with starting a new fundraising project with the Alumni.
Chaplain Shaughn Reese: Inducted 4 New Sweethearts, planned multiple rituals for Sigma, Phi, Epsilon, and Brother Mentor, and continues to keep brothers accountable through Standards trials when necessary.
VP Recruitment Sebastian Romanello: Organized a great Spring 23’ Rush, which will go into detail in the next article. Currently working with the Recruitment Committee to prepare for our Fall 23’ Rush next semester. Also working with the Balanced Man Scholarship Committee to ensure that the process is high quality to attract balanced men to our brotherhood.
VP Housing Gavin Bassett: Ensured that 35 brothers signed their contracts to live in the Oak Lane house and is in the process of finding the last brother to live in the house. On top of this, Gavin continues to search for more satellite houses to make sure we have the right resources to help the fraternity grow.
VP Member Development Andrew MacWilliams: Revamped the Sound Mind program within the fraternity and is currently building an accountable culture and redefining Big and Little relationships for further brotherhood development.
VP Communications Daniel Tran: In the process of building a stronger presence on Facebook and LinkedIn to increase our Alumni Relations. Created an original composite with the help of the Communications committee, and working with VP of Recruitment to create our Rush Video for next semester
